Arizona Science Center - Sesame Street

We have annual passes to the science museum and the boys love to go to all of the exhibits.  There was a Sesame Street exhibit and the boys thought it was so neat learning about their bodies.

 

Hunter is so interested in his body and was fascinated by everything. 

Cameron loved seeing each of the characters and exploring the visit. 

The boys always love playing with dad and mom and we love these fun activities together as a family.  I just wish I could get them to settle down for a minute and take pictures but they are always too busy running around having fun.

One on One Fun

While Hunter is at preschool, Cameron and I have been having a lot of one on one fun.  I love coming up with fun things to do together. 

We can never tell Hunter what we are doing because he is always sad and doesn't want to go to preschool or begs us to wait for him.  I always tell Patrick that Cameron and I do fun things in the morning and then Hunter comes home and sees what we have done and while Cameron naps Hunter and I do all of the same things in the afternoon.

One of Cameron's favorite things to do is paint and then display his pictures.

 Cameron loves to get messy and usually ends up painting himself along with his canvas.

 Cameron painted his hands and then placed them on the sides of his face.  I love the little hand marks on his head.

His sweet smile gets me every time.

I love this little guy and love spending time with just him and me.  He has such a sweet fun, spirit in such a little body.

Making a Mess

Since we have been inside more than the boys like because of the heat, I am always trying to come up with new fun and different things to do for them to enjoy. 

The boys always love to play with shaving cream.  We have done shaving cream painting and a swimming pool full of shaving cream, so I thought I would try a bathtub full of shaving cream.

 The boys had an absolute great time covering their bodies, the tub, the windows, the walls and everything in shaving cream.  They were laughing and smiling so cute that all I could do was laugh too and take pictures.  I am pretty sure they smelled like shaving cream for days.

Another day, we decided to make super bubbles.  The boys liked choosing fun colors for the bubbles and were so excited to help mix them up.  I had to convince them not to try the batter.

 So excited to get to play.

 The boys loved splashing and playing in the bubbles.  They are so fun to watch and I always love giving them a chance to get messy and play together.  I think the sound of them laughing together is my favorite sound in the world.

Robots, Monsters, and Aliens, Oh My!

 My boys love making projects.  I think that I have made monsters and robots in nearly every way possible.  In the past few months I have discovered pinterest and my boys love it.  Every afternoon Hunter will ask me to look up a project on pinterest.

 The boys loved their best friend brother robots.  They had to make them look just the same and loved being able to bring them all around the house to play.

 On one of Hunter's first days of preschool, Cameron and I decided to make monster puppets.

Cameron named his monster Fred and both of the boys loved the voice I used for Fred.  They were adorable interacting with him and pretending he was real.  Fred could get both of the boys to be so helpful all day.  I love Cameron's faces in these pictures.  He is so cute.

 Hunter absolutely loves aliens, outer space and rockets.  Every morning the boys love to talk and plan out how they are going to go to outer space in a rocket when they are big like daddies.  Cameron always begs Hunter to get to ride on his rocket.  It is so funny.  Hunter was so excited to make this alien hat and all week would scare people that their was an alien in the house. 
We love doing silly projects and making fun crafts together.  I am always amazed at how many fun things we can make out of all of the random things at our house.

Firefighter Hunter

The boys love getting outside and I love taking them on bike rides or walks around the neighborhood.  We often walk out to the fire station that is close by and the boys are always looking to catch a glimpse of the fire truck, ambulance, or any of the firefighters. 

One day we had walked down that way and one of the firefighters waved us over. 

The firefighter then gave each of the boys a fire hat and allowed them to climb up in the fire engine.  Cameron was a little timid but Hunter jumped right in.

 He is such a curious child and asked numerous questions about what every item was and how it was used.  He loved looking and talking to the fireman.

The fireman also allowed him to pull out the hose and spray it.  He was so delighted and now every time we walk back he hopes he will get another chance to play around at the fire station.

Naptime Projects

Hunter always wants to do projects when Cameron is taking a nap.  His favorite place to look for projects is on pinterest.  I will go through and pin a few things that I think he will like and then we will look through pinterest together to choose a project.  Here are a couple we did this week.

 q-tip painting with the abcs

 Hunter has wanted to make this aquarium out of an egg carton for a couple of days and kept trying to persuade me to put eggs in every recipe so we would be done with our eggs and could use the carton.  We finally finished with the egg carton.  He loved painting the egg carton and helping me decide which animals to make and how to make them.  We had this extra box around the house and I decided it would be more fun to put all of the sea animals in the box.  Hunter loves his aquarium and loves putting it on the counter to look at so he can check on all of his animals.

Arizona Museum of Natural History

As we have only lived in Arizona for six months, we are still having a lot of fun exploring and finding all of the fun new places around town.  We have now been to the Natural History museum a couple of times and the boys really like playing and exploring.



 



 The boys really liked exploring the mine this time and kept asking questions about everything in the exhibit.

 The liked searching for dinosaur bones but could only stand the heat for a little bit.

 The boys favorite part of the museum is always the dinosaurs. 

They absolutely love seeing all of the skeletons and models.

 We love getting out and having fun together.

Preschool

Hunter began preschool at the beginning of August.

He is so excited to make new friends and have fun. 

He is such a social bug and is so excited to play and get to know others.

 Cameron misses his big brother but we have been having a great time together, the two of us. 

We are so proud of our big guy and love spending time with him talking about all of their fun activities. 

Mormon Battalion

On our last day of the trip we headed to San Diego, enjoyed the beach, some yummy food, and went to the Mormon Battalion.

The boys loved the Battalion.

 They had such a cute program and as we were the only ones in our group they catered the program to our boys.

 

 

Our boys love talking about the pioneers and thought it was so fun traveling from room to room.

 

 

 We enjoyed learning more about the Mormon Battalion.

 

 Hunter was dressed up as a soldier.  The missionary guide asked Hunter if he knew what a bullet was and he said he knew about the song Bulletproof.  It made us all laugh.

 

 At the end of the tour we were able to pan for gold, make clay bricks and clean clothes at the pump.

 

 

Our California trip was definitely a great ride.

 

Such a fun family adventure.
